The weekly pages I had been using were fun, and easy, but they weren't helpful in planning tasks or for storing much information. I needed something...bigger. I figured Day on 1 Page inserts would be a good fit - and instead of spending hours searching for them on the computer, I would just make them myself.
I wanted a section to keep track of my meal planning, somewhere to keep track of what I needed to accomplish for the day, and space to write about the day.
For the longest time, I've had a love affair with the idea of a Bullet Journal. However, my to-do lists are never long enough to make it worth the time of setting one up. I figured, though, that I could just make a really detailed to-do list daily, and move tasks about if completed or not, and that would almost make a Bullet Journal.
This has everything I need.
And the hearts on the to-do list section count as the boxes for the Bullet Journal.
Let me show you what I mean...
Everything I need to do today is here! It has happened that, during the day, I've added tasks that I remembered about, or wanted to get done that came up throughout the day. I've even added a task after it's been done, and cross it off, just to keep track of the fact that it got done!
And this is a finished page!
- The hearts get outlined if a task is complete.
- The heart gets an arrow pointing to the right if it is moved to tomorrow.
- Any other reasons for not outlining a heart get noted - so for the "Look @ patterns on tab", I actually lost that browser tab, so I couldn't do it, so I wrote "lost". And for listening to the ASCC podcast, I moved that to Monday, so I wrote "Mon", instead of the arrow.
- Key subjects or notes in the journal section get underlined, for easier searching later (if necessary).
For the past week, this system has been delightful.
Each day gets a color, and its own decorations. Not much thought goes into that part of it yet, but it is better than plain white paper!
The advantage of this system, is everything is in one place, on one page. And, if a task isn't done yet, it is staring me in the face every time I open my planner!
If you would like to use these inserts, please download them here. These are for personal use only, and please do not distribute them as your own (I promise, if you wanted to do that, you could make your own inserts in the time it would take to try to pretend these were your own!).
What kind of layout do your favorite planner pages use?

I love your planner page. It's such a great way to keep everything organized. I find I have notes written to myself on iittle bits of paper that I have scattered here and there and I never have the information I need at my fingertips. I'm going to try your idea. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteA planner, or even a household binder, can be super helpful. Everything you need, all at once. And you can choose what it is you *actually* need to have in it! I mainly use my planner to help keep me on task, and its rather helpful!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, I appreciate it!
