2015 Will Be Better - with Printables!

2015 Will Be Better - With Printables! | Anxiously Being Havok

Do you remember a few posts back discussing about goals and how much 2014 was a horrible year for them? And how I'm a horrible goal maker and keeper? That opinion still stands, really, but it's also something I want to be working on.

To me, there's a difference between a list of goals and a to-do list. Goals are lofty and take lots of work. A to-do list is a grouping of actions to take, projects to work on, and which chores to do.

But, in the end, they're the same thing.
A list of goals is just a BIG to-do list, that needs to be broken up and split into steps, added to a to-do list, and accomplished.
I may have just sort of realized that in the past month or so, so bear with me!

And so, with this knowledge, I figured it would be best to get that in order. With planner pages, of course. Something that can be kept in a safe spot, but for easy access. Something with space to keep all the information I would need, throughout the year, for what it is I ought to be doing with myself (beyond a day-to-day basis).
Which is what I want to share today.

Quick note: at the bottom of most of the pages, there's a section for something called "#OneLittleWord", which is something I've seen about Instragram and BlogLand for a while now. Basically, you pick a word that represents something you want to focus on and work on for the summation of the year.
There's usually a sort of class that has prompts for the month of what you need to be doing in relation to your chosen word, and there are art projects people make, blog posts, etc. But the idea stands on its own well enough, that this is something I plan to be working on for 2015. I haven't chosen my word yet, but I will certainly be sharing when it comes to fruition! I know there's a word somewhere that sums up what I want 2015 to look like!

The pages included are as follows:
The first page is just a basic goal list.
The second page is intended to hold all the steps, projects, and middle steps from where you are right now to the place that has you reaching your goals.
The third page is for monthly planning, so far as which projects from the Plan of Attack page you ought to be doing, along with whatever else that may relate to your goals that you wish to accomplish.
The fourth page is similar to the don't-break-the-chain charts you may have seen about the internet. But instead of focusing on a whole year, for example, this can be for any month (or months!) you so wish. It's undated, and can be three different habits for one month, or one habit for three months, or whatever.

Basically, the whole thing is open-ended.
And bright green, because goals should be loud and important, right?

If you are interested in the 8.5x11 size, it is available for download here.
If you are interested in the 5.5x8.5 size, it is available for download here.
Both links will take you to the "media" page for these files, and you will have the option to download them from the preview. All I ask is that you don't distribute them as your own or anything like that (basic internet rules, eh?).

I entirely understand if bright green isn't your color, but I do encourage taking the time to really put effort forth, in this next year, towards accomplishing your goals.
And you can bet one of my goals will be making better pages, ha!

  2. Thanks! I'm happy with it, just wish I could get the green pages myself (no color in the printer), ha! So, black and white for me, but I know that something like this is certainly the right track for what I need to be successful in the next year!

  3. I have been doing something similar not with goals per se but with everything I need to keep track of that needs to get done. I print up about a month's worth of weekly calendars to hang on my kitchen cupboard. I transfer info from the monthly calendar that I keep in my purse for appts. and other activities onto them and fill in other activities and appts. as they come up. I have a master "to do" list, or really a few, one for me, one for things I need my husband to do, one for things to remind the kids they ned to do, and one for fun stuff coming up to do with the kids. I make sub-lists of things I need to or would like to get done in the coming week or before the holidays or whatever. Looking at all the other lists and calendars, I make a "to do" list for each day of the week for a week at a time and keep them stacked by my keyboard. I cross off things as I am getting them done (because I get a lot of satisfaction out of being able to cross something off the list) and then anything left on the list at the end of the day gets transferred to another day further down the pile before I toss the piece of paper out. That also gives me a sense of satisfaction, starting over each day with a fresh list. I keep a pile of scrap pieces of 8.5 x 11 paper cut into quarters on my desk to use for all these lists so none of them ever gets too overwhelming because you can't write too many things on a piece of paper that size. So I think you have the right idea of thinking about the big picture with the general goals and then whittling it down to the details to make them happen. Good luck.

  4. I like crossing things off too! I don't know what that means about me, but I embrace it :)
I don't like lists to be too long, either, as they get very overwhelming. Days when I have a lot to do, beyond the normal stuff, I tend to almost shut down. I had way too much stuff shoved into today, and just didn't even look at my list, because after writing it last night I knew it was a bit much. I get a little carried away sometimes with what I'm actually capable of. :)
    Thanks for stopping by!

  5. I love the habit tracker page!! I used to use an app with a similar purpose, but I'm much more of a paper and pencil kind of girl!
I'm also terrible at keeping up with and remembering goals I set for myself, what a great idea to use printables to keep yourself accountable! And you're right, a goals list is just a large to-do list, love that thought, will have to remind myself of that whenever I get overwhelmed in the future :)

  6. Thanks so much!! I've tried a few apps to keep track of things, but I don't check my phone often enough for it to be useful. I can remember instagram and facebook, but email only when I'm notified, and everything else is an "oh yeah!!" after thought, lol.
I will have to remind me self of the large to-do list factor as well, you bet!!
    Thanks for stopping by!
