The Liebster Award

The Liebster Award | Anxiously Being Havok

The very lovely Charlie over at Hey Charlie was so very kind to pass this my way! The Liebster Award is about getting to know your fellow bloggers, showing support for the blogs you love, and spreading the word about them. Another awesome bit is that it's intended to be spread about to bloggers that have a smaller(ish) following - so it's a great networking tool, not only to share blogs you love with other people, but to maybe send some readers their way as well!

There are rules, but they are simple:

  1. Post 11 random facts about yourself.

  2. Answer the 11 questions given by the person who nominated you.

  3. Nominate 11 bloggers to pass the award along to - and pass on 11 new questions for them!

  4. Spread word to the newly-nominated bloggers.

Alright, so first up, 11 random facts about me:

  1. I'm not actually married. The Mister and I have been engaged for two years now and are, basically, too lazy to plan a wedding. It's just easier to say that we're married: you tell people that you're engaged and they get excited - then you add on it's been two years, and they think you're pullin' a fast one on them!

  2. I got some Little MissMatched socks for Christmas...and then bought some more right after Christmas...and now the only socks I own are in bright colors and/or patterns. I love it.

  3. I watch Looney Tunes most nights before falling asleep. It's relaxing.

  4. I used to spend way too many hours playing Rift. Some days, I miss it. Last time I played it, I was leveling up a Warrior/Tank.

  5. We used to have a giant fish tank. Well, okay, not giant, but 40 gallons. We had a huge Plecostomus, and a Catfish, and a Shark of some kind, along with some littler fish.

  6. I built my PC. Well, the Mister helped. But I did most of it!

  7. I run Ubuntu 14.04. And I will probably upgrade when 15.04 comes out.

  8. I have the D&D 5 Starter Set and still haven't gotten to play it (which I got it at release).

  9. I didn't get my driver's license until I was 22. And on Halloween!

  10. The oldest friend I have, I've never actually met in 'real life'.

  11. I like Darth Maul's theme just as much as Darth Vader's. Sometimes more.

Next, to answer the questions I got from Charlie:

  1. What song always gets you on the dance floor? I don't really do "dance floors", but songs I will belt out in the car: "I Ran (So Far Away)", "Eastbound and Down", "West End Girls", "I Wear My Sunglasses at Night", and "Love Comes Quickly".

  2. If you could only eat one type of food for the rest of your life, what would it be? Macaroni and Cheese! You can do anything with it.

  3. What book are you reading right now? The fourth book, I think, in the Work and the Glory series (thank you 50% off Christmas sales!). It's on my tablet, and there isn't a good way to see which book I'm on, so I'm sure the end of the series will come at a surprise!

  4. A long-lost relative leaves you a large sum of money. What do you do with it? I buy a house and a motorcycle and computer parts and planners and yarn and...do I go on? Ha! Let's just say the Mister and I often discuss "when he wins the lottery".

  5. What makes you smile? Far too much. But probably most often would be Tux - he is too cute, even when he's being an obnoxious jerk.

  6. Gold or silver? Whichever one is shinier? I'm sort of falling in love with the combination of mint and gold (thank you, Instagram and Target), but silver goes with anything, and gold doesn't go with orange, so it's a tie.

  7. Three favorite online shopping websites. Amazon. eBay. And Amazon again. I would say Filofax or Kikki-K, except I would much rather buy from them in person (I just can't, where I live).

  8. What’s your favourite season of the year? And why? Summer, because my birthday. And sunshine. And motorcycles. And we finally have an air conditioner when it's horribly filthy hot out. And it stays light so late.

  9. Beach, city or jungle? Jungle, probably. I lived at the coast for a bit. It's too windy. Granted, I'm talking about the coast of Oregon, so they're all kinda icky, but I've never been to a nice beach to know what it's like! And the city, ugh - I live in just a suburb and it's too much!

  10. What’s your favorite way to veg out and take sometime for yourself? All of them? That's probably not an answer. Probably a fresh bag of Nacho Cheese Doritos and a few new JackSepticEye videos on Youtube to watch. So, a normal evening at my house!

  11. Brad Pitt or George Clooney? Well, George Clooney, because he played Batman. But then, Brad Pitt played Tyler Durden in Fight Club. So, tie? And they were both in the Ocean's movies. And Burn After Reading. So, yeah, tie.

Onto the nominations:

And the questions for those nominated:

  1. Favorite superhero?

  2. If you could only have one station on Pandora, what would it be?

  3. Favorite cookbook?

  4. If you had one whole day "off" (as in nothing at all needs to get done), what would you do?

  5. What book should everyone read?

  6. Favorite craft supply?

  7. What one thing do you wish everyone knew?

  8. Favorite candle scent?

  9. Windows, iOS, or Android?

  10. Favorite board game?

  11. Favorite holiday?

This was fun! And hopefully you guys can find some new blogs to read from it as well!

  1. Thanks for the nomination...I will at least answer your questions on my blog tomorrow and put up 11 random facts. I will need to think about who I would nominate though...that part is harder! :)

  2. Thank you so much! I know some people don't like doing these things (as it does most of the time veer of the topic of the blog!), but it is fun to get to know people better more! :)

  3. Thank you so much for the nomination, you are too sweet!! I actually did a Liebster award post a while back (http://bit.ly/1BToYmd) but it was so fun reading your random facts and answers to the questions! And wow, you built your computer?? Impressive :)

  4. It's actually really is to build a computer, ha - most of the ports only work one way - sort of like how most ports are color-coded on the back of the computer, it's very similar inside (just without the colors!).
And thank you for stopping by!! :)
