What's in YOUR bag?

What's in YOUR bag? | Anxiously Being Havok

I used to think I was good at keeping a well-stocked purse.
Then I found the plethora of "what's in my bag" posts and videos about the internet.

And now I've come to realize that I'm not as awesome as I thought I was!

I used to keep all sorts of things for the just-in-cases. But mostly ibuprofen and note paper and extra change for the bus. But now, since I don't use those items very often (and paper is in my planner), I'm carrying less and less.

I admit, I always have at least two pens, and try to make sure there's a chap stick or lip product of some kind or another with me, but other than that, I only carry the essentials - ID, cards, keys, planner, other keys, other cards, and some lady products.

Heck, I used to never dream of leaving the house without a whole purse, but now if I'm headed out with the Mister, I only take a wristlet (which is my wallet, which can also hold my phone). And I don't feel naked with only that!

With carrying so little, my back and shoulders are quite happy. I don't ever need any of the things I'm not carrying. However, I always feel like I should have more with me. Granted, I don't have children to clean up after, and I am never out of the house for very long, but it still feels that there should be more.

Watching various "what's in my bag videos", seeing Organized Jen's in particular about her "walking pharmacy" and a post from Pulling Curls about all the various things she has in all of her bags no matter what (which, in turn, links to Jen's updated walking pharmacy post, even!) makes me wish I was, well, more on top of things.

I've often wished for those kind of things, but have never needed them. And that is what has stopped me in the past - the need is not there. The bag is too small. And it's stuff I just won't ever use.

Until that one time, when it would be really handy to have it.
And wouldn't it be awesome to, well, have it?

So, let me hear it: What do you keep in your purse that you cannot live without?
What do you take with you that you make sure you have in your bag always? What "purse hacks" do you have?

P.S. Credit for the idea for this post definitely goes to Hilary over at Pulling Curls. She linked up to her purse post (linked above) on social media and as this topic has been on my mind lately, I figured it was a sign to make this post!

    1. I'm in need of a compact! I have a foundation powder that has a mirror in it that I normally take out with me if I've got a "face on" that day, but am still trying to find a cheap compact that is powder-less (I always worry it will open up in my purse and get everywhere!). I like the idea of having gum, too. I've been thinking of that as well, as it helps me with the fidgets!
Thank you so much for sharing! :)

  2. I remember fondly the days when I would walk out the door with only some money and my door key in my pocket.... Couldn't do it these days, I feel lost without without:
my Techo (Cousin size) , pocket filofax for my GTD lists, Guardian Weekly paper, pen and pencil combination for notes/crossword, phone, ereader, pocket torch, keys, tissues, small med kit, nail scissors and small pack of cards. The last is a new addition but has already proved a lifesaver with the kids for entertaining during long waits - they are getting pretty good at Rummy now!

    1. I was always fond of the block/squares game for long waits (draw a line on dot-grid and then whoever ends up with the most squares wins).
I'm wanting to add tissues to my bag - one, because they come in handy, but also because they have the cutest character packs at the Dollar Tree right now and I don't think I'll be able to not pick some up! xD
Thank you for sharing your list! :)
