It was unintentional. But a break was necessary, and while there are not "new creative juices flowing", that so many people claim to have after a break, it is certainly with a bit more energy that I'm back with.
Not much, but a bit more.
And I will take what I can get at this point.
I started packing yesterday.
Because it's official and we are moving. We just don't know when or where. We have a (hopeful) location/zip code, and will be doing some searching this Saturday (on the motorcycle no less, as all "house-hunting" should be, I feel). And while, if we do find a place, that will mean I will have to be packing a lot quicker than I originally planned, I'm alright with that.
Something new is what we need.
I would have to say that our last "adventure" was getting Tux, and that was a year ago (almost exactly, actually), and we haven't had a change of scenery in even longer (we were in Idaho for about three days in April of last year.
But other than those two things, life has been stagnant for us for quite a while, it seems.
Moving should not only spice things up, but add so much that we just don't have right now.
Like carpets that we can sit on without smelling horrendously like dog. While we love the pups, teh smellz r bad. And maybe a new place to live that won't make us walk the equivalent of four blocks after parking our car if we get home from something after 7pm because the parking lot is full near our apartment.
Maybe some sun will land on our back porch after 1130 or so in the morning, and Tux could legitimately sunbathe out there as he longs to do in the mornings right now - since there is only sun on our back porch in the morning.
So a lot of my time will be spent putting things in boxes and moving boxes around and unfolding shelves and vacuuming and scrubbing and whatnots.

Our combined desk-toys and things - hopefully they can come back out soon! |
It will not be awesome. And I will probably end up getting whatever it is called when you inhale too much bleach fumes - cuz ventilation, in an apartment, is nonexistent.
Wish me luck. And energy.
The good news is it's already started, and there has been progress made - and even some things that are going to be not coming with us. It's just a matter of keeping up on it.
Yay moving...?

Always good to hear from you, don't worry about it! Scary but exciting (and exhausting) is moving. Maybe take it as a way to thin out what you don't need as you go, so you are only taking what you want to fill your new space. Or do you think it will be on such a short time-scale that it is just pack and sort when you get there?
ReplyDeleteThank you so very much!
DeleteBelieve you me, I have been going through everything before it gets into a box. Have quite a bit that needs to go away already! We don't really have a time frame at this point, other than as soon as we can get a place, we will be over there ASAP to avoid paying the ridiculously high rent here as soon as we can!
