Things I've Learned This Week

Things I've Learned This Week | Anxiously Being Havok

Also things I already knew and re-learned this week.
Also in bullet point format, for easy digestion.
  • Knitting stitches and techniques - the kind that require patience and lots of finagling to get right. And, somehow, I've got the patience for it.
  • Dishes still won't do themselves. No matter how kindly I ask them.
  • The older dog will work himself into such a tizzy if we're gone for long enough (as in 8 hours or so) to dehydrate himself (no joke).
  • The little dog pukes into things (like their blanket, or a sock).
  • Pedestrians don't always take the appropriate actions to ensure their safety.
  • People care far too much about football. You'd think first day of the season was an actual holiday.
  • Nice clothes cost a lot of money.
  • Mismatched socks are amazing.
  • The pull towards new projects will always be strong.
  • Sock knitting will have to wait until after Christmas, with the amount of stuff I have to make. I'm okay with this, but I want socks goshdarnit. And that's coming from a lady who doesn't wear socks unless she has to. In theory I love them (as stated above), but they are just too hot to wear regularly.
  • I will more than likely never do all of the things in a day that I ought to, no matter how productive I am.
  • The corner seat of our sectional is the most comfortable spot in the house.
  • I am capable of more things than I thought I was. I'm pleased with this.
  • I am incapable of things I knew I was. I'm okay with this.
I'm sure there is more, but for now that's all I've got.
It's been a rough week. But also a good one.
I'm excited about some things, and quite down about others. I think that's how things are supposed to be. Is it?

Have you learned anything this week? Or rediscovered some life-truth?

P.S. Also learned that I managed to spell "finagling" right the first time. Had to Google it just to make sure spell check wasn't just giving up on me (I imagine spell check would have just been like "ya, nope, you're on your own, we don't know what that is, it's so wrong we didn't even underline it" - so I was pleased when Google said it was correct).

  1. You sure have been busy! And my dog pukes in the most inconvenient places as well. I ended up having to make new covers for her beds because I had to wash them so many times and they fell apart. I also so agree about the football season. It just started and I'm sick of it already.

    1. I'm actually glad that our doggies do not have beds of their own for that reason alone! They've had cheap blankets from the store, though, that eventually just had to be chucked. I didn't wash them often enough, and they just couldn't be saved!
Agree about the football - already over it for the year! I feel as if it's popularity has exploded in the past year or two, but that could just be what I'm subjected to online now versus a few years ago, ha!
Thanks so much for stopping by! :D

  2. I love when I spell a crazy word correctly the first time! I like your observations here. What is with pedestrians just walking into the street without looking?? It happens all the time! Dude, can you not see me driving this giant run-you-over machine here?

You are very talented with your knitting! I have no patience, I could never pull it off. But I love the finished product!

    1. Giant run-you-over machine is entirely correct - and I drive a truck, it's rather obvious! I used to walk everywhere, and would always try and watch out for cars and make eye contact if possible with drivers, whether I had the right-of-way or not, just to make sure I'm not going to get run over. Seems to me that's not a common thing, sadly.
And thank you for your kind words! I'm just starting out with the knitting, and am looking to learn a ton more, but am quite pleased with how things have went so far!
Thank you so much for stopping by! :D
