I'm glad I didn't choose any large projects for Christmas knitting. Because it means that multiple things are getting finished - which is necessary.
I figured it all out, and with everything I want to do, I should have time to complete everything. Seven objects in a little under nine weeks, when each individual object should take no longer than a week each...I can do it! I can!
Yes, that is for my benefit rather than trying to convince you (as it's me who needs the convincing!).
But, man, I'm on my third hat of the same style. And after this there's another to make - and another hat of a different pattern as well!
They work up quick (the pattern is the Bankhead hat which has been on my Instagram a few times at this point), and they are not boring in the least, but it's a lot of the same.
And I get, well, bored.
Which is probably a character flaw. But it's one I'm sort of embracing. At least in this sense.
You see, after a "larger" project, I've been doing something small.
Like dishcloths.
Ah, the magical dishcloths. I've talked about dishcloths way too often, right? But they are so handy! To use and, apparently, to break up the monotony of Christmas Knitting.
Plus, well, I'm enjoying it.
And it makes some pretty awesome things.
The paw print was fun, and probably something what has sold me the most on this whole knitting thing - you can't do this with crochet!
This has been through the wash already, so it's shrunk down to size, but also in need of a good flattening, which is something I've not quite figured out how to do.
I mean, I'd end up making these things anyway. I'm already trying to figure out what sort of pattern to do next - I'm on the lookout for a dinosaur of some sort, because wouldn't that be fun!
But at least for now it's something fun and bright, between dark colored hats.
Do you do palate cleansing projects? What sort do you employ?

P.S. Yeah, this kinda means I've been knitting nonstop. I can't help it.
P.P.S. Also, are you on schedule for your Christmas presents?
