Concluding Home Week

Remember on Monday, how I was so very energetic and happy to get my house looking amazing?
Well, that energy didn't last all week. It lasted all of Monday and then some of Thursday afternoon. The rest of the week involved feeling ill and extra tired, and was spent binge watching "Gilmore Girls" on Netflix.

This is what happens when I'm unsupervised!

I don't feel myself to be unsuccessful, because I set out to do what I had intended to do. I do, however, feel as if I am not a winner, because I didn't go above and beyond what rather low standards I had set for myself.

Obviously, I didn't throw the entire contents of my home away.
But, at the same time, I did manage to take 4 trash bags of stuff to Goodwill.

The entrance to our bedroom is clearer. The shelves in both the bedroom and bathroom are not overflowing, and things can be found on them! My cleaning supplies aren't wandering around the house, our towels won't be falling off the top shelf in the bathroom any more, and it just feels peaceful.

No, I am not some awesome person who can just wave a magic wand and change the way they live.
I'm used to things being like this. I like the idea of minimalism, but I know I would never survive it!

You may notice on my list that I didn't do the Couch chair, nor the Yarn hoard.
The couch chair is, admittedly, somewhat like a coat closet. It has an extra motorcycle helmet, a jacket, a throw blanket, and a guitar hanging out in it. It's way over in the far corner of the living room, so I just shrugged at it and said oh well, next time.
The yarn hoard will actually by clearing itself out - working on Christmas presents, the goal is to use as much stuff that I already have in-house, before buying anything else. So hopefully come January, my collection will be under control.
Wouldn't that be nice!

Have you had any crazy cleaning goals lately?
