Adulting [or, couch days versus dishes]

I'm pretty sure that I'm adulting. I can prove it, too.

Adulting [or, couch days versus dishes] | Anxiously Being Havok

Yesterday was a crappy-feeling kind of day. My head was all over the place, very giddy and full of jokes, yet saddened and quite unhappy with myself.
I had decided to just have a couch-evening (similar to a bed-day, which is normally the choice when things like this occur). I managed about half an hour and just felt...overwhelmed.
I had a ton of things that needed to get done, things to get ready for today for, and things that I wouldn't have time for today. It was weighing on me terrible.

So I did the dishes. Which led to cleaning the counters. Which led to getting the garbage and recycling ready to go out in the morning, which led to vacuuming the kitchen. Also, the grocery list, finishing my to-do list for today, and taking out chicken for tonight's dinner.

And I felt better.
Not much better, but a bit. I will take "a bit better" over not better at all any day.

Still frazzled? Sure.
Still not happy with a lot of things? Of course.
Still giddy with bad jokes? You bet.
Better, though, and that matters.

Because even though I still just wanted to curl up into a ball and...well, be gone...I felt less junky than I had been. And for right now, that's enough.

  1. Well done you! It is so hard to get started when you are feeling rubbish isn't it. I had a day like that today, and though I did a fair bit of curling up and reading while feeling horrible, by the end of the day I had managed some productive bursts and I did feel better for it. Now I have to try and do it again tomorrow though...

    1. Oh I know the feels - "tomorrow, must do again tomorrow." And, truth be told, it is a matter of day-to-day. Some are awesome. Some are just, well, &*%$. I always have the hope that one good day will lead to another good day, and that normally works for a few, but the energy level just kicks the bucket after about the second day. Then it's a matter of building it all back up again!
      Wishing you energy for tomorrow!
Thanks so much for stopping by! :D
