Yay Christmas Time!

Woo, it's Christmas week!
I hope you are well prepared (or at least have most of everything taken care of!) and aren't feeling too rushed and stressed. It's supposed to be a time of peace and joy, not running around town because of x, y, and z! Be sure and keep that in mind!

This week, I will be taking it easy (which I will recommend to anyone else, if they are able).
I've got socks to cast-on on Christmas Eve, and will be spending the week getting used to super tiny fine yarn (oh my gosh, so tiny!) and super tiny needles (oh my gosh, so tiny!) and trying to "master" magic loop so my socks don't have giant holes in the sides and, well, basically, learning new things.
But also taking time to play some Mario Kart and Pokemon, and trying to clean up the "office" for a good start for the new year, and who knows what else.
Time to just...well, hibernate for the week.

And that is my Christmas gift to myself. I wish I could share it with each and every one of you.
With all of the rush-rush-all-of-the-gifts and all-of-the-places-to-be and who knows what else that "normal" people do (and by "normal" I mean those that socialize and leave the house more than grocery shopping and the very, very few family obligations I have and am used to), each and every one of you deserves such a thing.

If you are able, please do. Even if it's just an evening (and even if it has to be after Christmas is over - just some time before 2016!), sit and, well, do whatever your heart desires. If that's a good nap, great! If it's reading a book, awesome! If it's having dessert and not having to share with littles who take advantage of you being distracted with each other (I hear that's a thing!), super! If it's a nice bath, fantastic! Or, if it's playing Minecraft for a few hours, stupendous!
Something. For you. Because you deserve it. You're a lovely individual and, guaranteed, you're doing plenty for everyone else and not enough for yourself.

I wish I could hug you all and thank you in person and wish you a very Merry Christmas.
But please accept this in lieu of that - a very much so full-of-love thank you and a heart of gratefulness, a wish for a fantastic Christmas for you, whatever your plans may be, and a stern suggestion of seriously taking some you-time.

May your blankets stay cozy, your cocoa warm, and your hearts full.

P.S. Yes, this means "radio silence" for the week - we will be back to our regularly scheduled programming on December 28th. However, if you are interested, there is a video going up on my YouTube channel on the 26th (super early in the morning, even!) that shows all of the Christmas knitting that I somehow managed to accomplish. It's about 20 minutes in length and the lighting is horrendous, but you'll get to see me make a fool of myself while tripping over words and things!
