Week on 2 Page Insert Review
My notes from Thursday sum up this week the best...
"Oh I suck at this," and "bleh". I had high hopes, and I just didn't see myself through.
And that's kind of how I feel about this page design.
I wanted to try week on 2-page inserts because it didn’t' seem like there was enough room to roam on my last inserts. They were set up well, and they looked good, but they just weren't right for me.
So I did a search for a week on 2-page spread. I found this free download, and thought it would be simple enough to try out, large enough area to explore the format, and blank enough to allow room for me to decorate on my own (without it getting too cluttered).
I changed the font, and printed out a week. it was empty, and I was happy about that.
I filled in the dates, and the daily chores I needed to be doing. I threw some stickers and tape in, and then it just wasn't right.
As the week progressed, I added more and more to my days - not only what I needed to be doing, but things that I had been doing as well. I want to move my planner into a happier direction, which to me means adding more life into it, instead of keeping it just things to do.
And this is what it ended up as.
And sadly, even before the end of the week, I was just not in love with this.
I didn't have anything to use the lines for at the end of the set-up, which kind of made me feel sad. I had so much space that I just didn't know how to use. The separate days themselves had enough space for me, but with my handwriting, it just didn't work out. I can't write straight, and I can't write small enough for it to be pretty.
I wanted to like these pages. They were a blank slate. They just don't fit my style quite right. Or, maybe, my style just isn't right for them!
For this week, I'm using day on 1-page inserts, which have a totally different feel to them. Once I get into using those, I will review them as well.
What kind of inserts do you have in your planner? How many different set-ups have you tried?

I use a WO2P and am quite happy with it so far. I think my writing is on the small side though and it's relatively straight, so maybe that's the difference. But honestly, if I were still working, that format will not be enough and I'd likely have to go with a DO1P or DO2P format.
ReplyDeleteI am not currently working either, but I try and write down all the things I need to do for the day, including chores, dinner, and all that goodness. I'm a sloppy writer without lines, so that doesn't help either!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, I really appreciate it!!
