December Daily - But Not Quite Exactly, Only Sorta

I spend a lot of time on YouTube watching videos. But sometimes, that's an okay thing. For example, when it leads to good ideas. Or the borrowing of good ideas.
That has happened recently.
Lemme explain.

From what I understand of the standard "December Daily" project, it's a scrapbook thing of sort that you have pictures and ephemera and journaling and all sorts of stuff, for each day of the month. Something that you are capturing each day. I'm pretty sure Ali Edwards can explain it better, though, so if you're interested in this, check out her information page on it.

And so many people do it. Instagram is full of people (at least people that I follow) that are doing an album or a mini-book or something that is the standard-issue daily thing.
Which is awesome. Capturing memories is cool.

Except, you know, the part about how it's not really something I could do, even though I really would like to. Last year it sounded pretty awesome. This year it has looked amazing (and nobody has even made any real pages yet, except maybe a cover page here or there).
But, we don't do anything for Christmas, besides going to see family. A whole month of trying to get Christmas memories? Not gonna happen in this household. It's probably easier for people with children, as there tends to be more things to do for the Holidays involving them(or so the Internet has suggested to me), but you may have noticed that we do not have any of those.

So, I figured I would try and get some photos for our actual Christmas doings and just throw it into my normal Project Life album and call it good. That would probably be asking for too much, though. We don't take a lot of pictures for Christmas. Just, in general, we don't do Christmas like "normal," really.

Enter awesome YouTube videos.
I found someone who decided to do a December Daily art journal project. A page a day for the month of December, that is Christmas-y themed, with whatever the heck they wanted to throw at it. And it sounded fantastic.

That's something I can do! Because it doesn't actually have to mean anything. It can be just a collage of Christmas images on one day and that's it (and while that sounds like a cop-out, it really isn't - collage for me is difficult to wrap my head around). It can be a doodle of our sad little tree, or ornaments, or deer (reindeer, even). It could be photos, if I ever get any. It could be recipes, if I do end up baking something (but wouldn't it be cool to somehow store cookies in a journal?).
And, I'm not even going to do a whole month, I decided. 25 days is all I'm committing myself to. I debated starting on Thanksgiving, but that would be more days, and, well, my running history with completing projects is only so/so.

The quest has already started, to gather as many Christmas images as I can.
And, you know, junk mail has come in handy for once. An ad for a hardware store had a bunch of Christmas tree images, and even a giant inflatable dog with a Santa hat on it - you can bet I saved those! I have cut out and stashed away pictures of a turkey dinner from the grocery circular that came out, among a few other things here and there.
And I've planned out my "cover" page in my "sketchbook," and sort of figured out how to draw string-light-bulbs and holly leaves for it.

I'm excited. It could totally be awesome. Sure, it could be a disaster, but let's not think about that. It'll at least be an adventure, and that's always fun.
Plus, the Christmas spirit and all that nonsense. I hear that's fun.

Though it would still be cool to actually do things. Like going to "see the lights." ZooLights, even. Do you do stuff like this? Is it awesome?
